Dhaka: Top leaders of Bangladesh Chattra League (BCL), the student associate body of the ruling Awami League, on Saturday slammed media saying that media publish news with wrong information about the organisation.

‘Bangladesh Chattra League is Sheikh Hasina’s strength. But, the organisation gets victimised sometimes by pen-terrorists only to weaken Sheikh Hasina,’ said BCL general secretary Siddique Nazmul Alam.

He said this in the inaugural session of a two-day council of Bangladesh Chhatra League at historic Suhrawardy Udyan. Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina attended the session as the chief guest.

Nazmul also said, ‘We can see propaganda against BCL in our media. Biswajit’s killers didn’t belong to our organisation, but media identified them as Chhatra League members.’

BCL President Badiuzzaman Sohag also alleged that their good activities are hardly carried by media.

BCL senior vice president Joydeb Nandi also swiped at journalists saying some ‘yellow journalists’ always try to mislead the organisation.
