Sylhet: Police in a drive held 10 leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami while they were holding what officials said a secret meeting at a mosque at Sabujbag in Sylhet on Thursday night.

The arrestees were Ehsanul Mahbub Jubair, Sylhet city unit Jamaat ameer, Mohammad Abdus Sabur, Ahmed Al Masud, Mir Hossain, Joynal Abedin, Delwar Hossain Jamil, Mahmud Ahmed, Mohammad Morshed Alam, Abdullah Al Munim and Ahmed Hossain.

Tipped off, a team of police conducted a raid at the mosque and arrested them while they were holding a clandestine meeting inside around 10:30 pm, said Shahparan police officer-in-charge Manirul Islam.
