12 held for attempting illegal entry into India

Benapole: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested 12 people while they were allegedly going to India illegally through Benapole’s Putkhali border on Tuesday night.
BGB sources said tipped off, a team of the border force launched a drive in the frontier area and arrested the 12 people, including five women, at about 10:00 pm.
However, the ring leaders, reportedly human traffickers, of the group managed to flee the scene.
The arrestees are from different areas of Gopalganj. They were handed over to the Benapole Port police.
Sub-inspector of the police station Manir Hossain confirmed the incident saying that a case was filed in the connection.
