Shimulia-Kawrakandi ferry service resumes

Madaripur: Ferry service on the Shimulia-Kawrakandi route resumed on Friday afternoon after 14 hours of its disruption for rough weather and poor navigability.
Abdus Salam Miah, manager of BIWTC in Kawrakandi, said the plying of Ro-Ro ferries were suspended on Thursday morning and launch and speedboat services were suspended on Thursday night for strong current in the Padma River and poor navigability on the Kawrakandi Shimuliya channel.
Launch, speedboat, K-Type ferry and VIP ferry services resumed at about 1:00pm after 14 hours of disruption but the Ro-Ro ferry service is still being disrupted.
