Pabna: An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of Pakshi police camp was found dead at a field near Pakshi Paper Mill in Pakshi upazila on Monday. The deceased was identified as Sujaul Islam, in his thirties, resident of Bogra.

The Ishwardi police said miscreants stopped Sujaul Islam while he was going to join his night duty at about 9:00pm on Sunday and strangulated him to death.

Later, they dumped the body in a field near Pakshi paper factory, said police.

Local people discovered Sujaul’s body at about 8:45am on Monday and called police.

Police recovered the body with the victim’s hands and legs tied up.

The body will be sent to Pabna General Hospital morgue.
