Pabna: Two alleged cattle thieves were killed and another injured in a lynch-mob attack at Saradangi Kaziapara village of Ataikula upazila early on Saturday.

The deceased could not be identified immediately.

The injured is Yearul, believed to be 35, a resident of Shingra upazila of Natore.

Ataikula police officer-in-charge Nure Alam said, a group of thieves swooped on the village at about 4:00am for stealing cows.

Sensing the thieves’ presence, local people chased them off.

At one stage, local people caught three of the thieves and gave them a good thrashing, leaving two of them dead on the spot and Yearul injured while the others managed to flee.

Police went to the spot and recovered the bodies and sent those to sadar hospital morgue.

Police also detained Yearul in this connection.
