Chittagong: Customs Intelligence officials arrested a man carrying 4 gold bars weighing 464 grams at Shah Amanat Airport in Chittagong on Friday.

The arrestee is Touhidul Alam, of Satkania upazila of the district.

Assistant Commissioner of Customs Intelligence Pranay Chakma said customs officials challenged Touhidul when he arrived in Chittagong by a flight of RAK airways from Sarjah at about 8:00am.

They recovered the gold bars worth Tk 23lakh after searching him, he said.
