Schoolteacher allegedly killed by husband

Bandarban: A schoolteacher was found with her throat cut at her residence allegedly by her husband over a family feud at Lama Bazar in Lama upazila on Friday night.
The deceased, Maicyaching Marma, believed to be 28, was an assistant teacher of Rupasipara Government Primary School.
Lama Police officer in-charge Sirajul Islam said the victim locked into an altercation with her husband Thoaiching Marma over a family feud at about 8:30pm.
At one stage, Thoaiching hacked Maicyaching and slit her throat.
Hearing screams of Maicyaching, local people tried to rescue her and informed police.
The couple got married three months back.
Later, police recovered Maicyaching’s body and sent it to Bandarban Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Thoaiching was found tangled in electric cables as he tried to kill himself by electrocution.
He was admitted to the hospital under police custody.
A case was recorded with Lama Thana in this connection, police said.
