Rickshaw-puller stabbed dead
Dhaka: Police recovered the body of a rickshaw-puller from Adabar area in Dhaka on Monday morning.
Being informed, a team of Adabar Police Station went to Road-14 of Adabar at about 5:15am and recovered the body of Osman Hawlader as an unidentified person, said sub-inspector Kabir of the police station.
There were stab marks on different parts of the body of the victim draped in lungi and shirt, he said.
The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
Victim’s family members went to the DMCH morgue in the afternoon and identified him as Osman Hawlader.
Osman, son of Alam Hawlader of Jhalakati, was residing at Nabinagar in Adabar.
He came out of his residence in the early hours of Monday, said SI Rashid of the police station quoting his family members.
Muggers might have killed him, the police officer said, adding that victim’s brother Ibrahim filed a case in this connection.
