Mymensingh: A court in Mymensingh on Monday sentenced six people to death and another to life term imprisonment for killing an 8-year old boy in Muktagacha upazila in 2010.

The condemned convicts are Saheb Ali, Abdul Kuddus, Ibrahim, Abdul Majid Madhu, Monajat Ali alias Monta and Md Jewel while the lifer is Kamala Khatun. Among them, Saheb Ali was tried in absentia.

According to prosecution, Farhad, son of Ayub Ali of Kheruajani village, was abducted by Saheb Ali and his associates on 4 May 2010.

Police recovered Farhad’s body from near his house after three days.

Farhad’s father filed a case with Muktagacha police station accusing seven people in this connection.

After examining the witnesses, additional district and sessions judge Jahirul Kabir handed down the verdict.
