Brahmanbaria: A man was stabbed to death and his wife critically injured by robbers at Majharia village of Nabinagar upazila in Brahmanbaria on early Friday.

The deceased is Chhoton Saha, 35, a resident of the village, reported UNB.

Nabinagar police officer-in-charge Imtiaj Ahmed said, a gang of robber swooped on Chhoton’ house at about 3:30am and looted 10 tola gold ornaments and Tk1.50 lakh.

The bandits stabbed Chhoton and his wife Smrity Rani Saha as they tried to resist them, leaving Chhoton dead on the spot and Smrity injured.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital morgue.
