Dhaka: The Jamshed-Sangakkara stand of 55 runs enabled Dhaka Dynamites to secure a six-wicket victory against Comilla Victorians in their first match of the franchise-based 3rd Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Twenty20 at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Sunday.

Replying to Comilla Victorians' 110/8, Dhaka Dynamites reached their target scoring 112 runs for 4 in 19.2 overs.

Nasir Jamshed and Kumar Sangakkara pair contributed 55 runs in 8.4 overs in the 2nd wicket stand to carry the team total to 84 for 2 in 13.2 overs after the dismissal of opener Shamsur Rahman (19 0ff 17b; 3x4) at 29/1 in 4.4 overs.

Jamshed scored the highest run-a-ball 44 involving eight fours and was trapped lbw by Sunil Narine while skipper Sangakkara was bowled out by Abu Haider adding 25 runs off 29 balls with one six.

Dhaka Dynamites' iconic all-rounder Nasir Hossain (unbeaten 5 off 2b; 1x4) hit a four in the tail end off a Mashrafe Mortaza delivery to draw the winning line.

Abu Haider grabbed two wickets for 17 runs in 4 overs while Mashrafe and Sunil Narine took one wicket each for 23 and 24 runs respectively in 3.2 and 4 overs.

Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, Comilla Victorians were restricted to 110/8 in 20 overs.

Playing stipulated 20 overs, Comilla Victorians scored the total riding on the 8th wicket stand of 43 runs in 6.1 overs between skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Krishmer Santokie.

Mashrafe hit team highest 25 runs off 26 balls with two sixes and was caught by Kumar Sangakkara off an Abul Hasan delivery at 109/8 in 19.4 overs while Krishmer Santokie scored unbeaten 21 off 16 balls with three fours.

Abul Hasan jolted the Comilla Victorians, which batted first after winning the toss, batting castle first sending opener Imrul Kayes to the pavilion caught by Farhad Reza for a duck in the very 3rd delivery of the match.

Farhad poured salinity onto the injury dismissing Liton Kumar Das (3 off 5b) who was caught by off-cutter sensation Mustafizur Rahman when scoreboard was showing 8 for 2 in 1.2 overs for Comilla.

Abul Hasan hunted his 2nd one Shuvagata Hom (4 off 3b) who was caught by Yasir Shah at 21 for 3 in 2.3 overs.

The Victorians managed a meagre 27 runs losing four top order batsmen in 3.5 overs including Marlon Samuels (8 off 9b; 1x4) who was bowled by Mustafizur Rahman.

Darren Stevens followed Samuels falling victim of run out at 36 for 5 in 7.3 overs.

Mahmudul Hasan scored 22 runs off 30 balls with two fours and Ariful Haque added run-a-ball 13 with one four. Both of them were caught and stumped respectively by skipper Kumar Sangakkara off Mosharraf Hossain's bowling.

Comilla Victorians lost 7 wickets for 66 runs in 13.3 overs.

Bowling four overs each, Abul Hasan and Mosharraf Hossain grabbed 3 and 2 wickets respectively for 29 and 15 runs. Mustafizur Rahman and Farhad Reza took one wicket apiece for 24 and 27 runs respectively also bowling 4 overs each.
