Comilla Victorians seal emphatic 8 wkt victory against Barisal Bulls

Dhaka: Comilla Victorians sealed an emphatic 8 wicket victory against Barisal Bulls in the 8th Twenty20 match of the franchise-based 3rd Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Wednesday.

Chasing an easy target of 90 runs Comilla Victorian reached in their winning destination for 2 wickets in 18 overs with Mahmudul Hasan scoring the highest 31 runs off 43 ball with four fours.

In the 2nd wicket stand Hasan pairing with Marlon Samuels contributed a 37 runs in 9 ovres to carry the team total to 60/2 in 12.5 overs from 23/1 in 3.5 oversb, before he was caught by skipper Mahmudullah off a Kevon Cooper bowling.

The 3rd wicket pair between Marlon Samuels and Shuvagata Hom completed the rest job contributing an unbeaten 30 runs in 5.1 overs.

Marlon Samuels scored unbeaten 23 off 38 balls while Shuvagata Hom added another unbeaten score of 12 off 13 balls including one four.

Opener Imrul Kayes was caught by Sabbir Rahman off an Al-Amin Hossain bowling scoring 13 off 14 balls with two fours when scoreboard showing 23/1 in 3.5 overs.

Cooper and Al-Amin Hossain took one wicket each for 7 and 29 runs respectively in 3 and 4 overs.

Earlier, batting first after winning the toss Barisal Bulls were restricted for an 89/10 in 18.3 overs that is the lowest score in this tournament still now.

Number eight batsman Kevin Cooper scored the highest 22 runs off 21 balls with two fours and was trapped lbw by Nuwan Kulasekara at team 81 for 9 in 17.2 overs.

Rony Talukdar scored 17 off 22 balls eith two fours while Sabbir Rahman (10 off 13; 1x4) was the another double ffigur scores for Barisal Bulls.

Nuwan Kulasekara who was adjudged man of the match grabbed 3 wickets for super economic 8 runs in 3 overs while Ashar Zaidi captured 3 wickets for economic 16 runs in 4 overs.

Conceding 21 runs each, Abu haider and Sunil Narine took 2 and 1 wicket respectively in 4 and 3.3 overs.
