Dhaka: BNP spokesperson Asaduzzaman Ripon on Tuesday termed the Election Commission as spineless and powerless.

The BNP leader during a press conference at party’s headquarters in Nayapaltan said the municipal election will also be turned like the 5-January general election if the law enforcers do not stop arresting the possible candidates and BNP leaders, activists.

Asaduzzaman said the election commission has already lost credibility for its pro-government stands. The municipal poll is an opportunity for EC to recover their wrecked backbone.

The BNP spokesperson also said the commission lost its capability to organise a free, fair, and credible election.
