Dhaka: An all-round dazzling performance by the Sylhet Super Stars helped them to earn an overwhelming nine-wicket victory over Barisal Bulls in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2015 on Sunday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur, Dhaka.

Chasing Barisal's paltry total of 58 runs, Sylhet Super Stars hardly had to worry as they easily reached home, making 62 runs in 11.2 overs with nine wickets in hand.

After the departure of opener Dilshan Munaweera for 0, Junaid Siddique and Nurul Hasan easily completed the chase and remained unbeaten on 34 and 23 runs respectively. Pakistani pacer M Sami took one wicket giving away nine runs.

Earlier, Barisal Bulls were restricted in a paltry total of 58 runs after they were forced to bat first by Sylhet Super Stars skipper Mushfiqur Rahim.

Apart from Mohammad Sami (16) and Evine Lewis (12), the other Barisal batsmen failed to reach the double figure in the face of tight bowling attacks by the Sylhet Super Stars bowlers, especially English bowlers Ravi Bopara.

Apart from Bopara's three for 12 runs, Shahid Afridi, Rubel Hossain and M Shahid captured two wickets each conceding 5, 6 and 23 runs respectively.

Junaid Siddique of Sylhet Super Stars was named the player of the match.

With the day's win, Sylhet Super Stars secured four points from seven matches while Barisal Bulls remained at their previous credit of 10 points playing the same number of outings.

Monday's matches: Comilla Victorians vs Barisal Bulls (2:00pm) and Sylhet Super Stars vs Rangpur Riders (6:30pm), both at the same venue.
