RAB blamed for Rajshahi BCL leader’s disappearance

Rajshahi: A group of people, identifying them as RAB members, picked up a Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (Ruet) unit leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League on early Thursday.
The victim is M Saifuzzaman Shohag, information and research secretary of the Ruet BCL and a 4th year student of the Mechanical Engineering Department of the university, says a UNB report.
At a press conference at the Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industries conference room on Friday morning, victim’s father Akkas-uz-Zaman said a group of people, identifying them as members of Rapid Action Battalion, forcibly entered their house at about 3:00am.
After entering the house, they directly went to the room of Shohag on the 2nd floor.
Later, they searched the laptop of Shohagh and picked him up along with the laptop and a camera.
Shohagh’s father went to the Rajpara Police Station and nearest RAB office on Thursday morning to know about the detention.
However, the elite force and police denied the detention of the BCL leader.
Zaman filed a general diary with Rajpara Police Station in this regard, said Mahmudur Rahman, officer-in-charge of the police station.
