Rajshahi: At least seven people were killed and 30 others were injured in a head-on collision between two buses at Chouddapai in Motihar thana of Rajshahi on Tuesday.

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Assistant sub-inspector of Rajshahi Hospital Police camp, Mamun, said the accident took place at about 1:30pm when a Dhaka-bound bus from Rajshahi collided head-on with another coming from the opposite direction, leaving three people killed on the spot and 33 others injured.

Four of the injured died on the way to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. The remaining injured people were being treated at the hospital.

On information, firefighters went to the spot and conducted the rescue operation.
