Jamaat calls hartal for Thursday
Dhaka: Jamaat-e-Islami has called a 12-hour hartal from Thursday morning protesting Supreme Court’s order that upheld death penalty for its amir Motiur Rahman Nizami.
A press release issued by the party’s acting Amir Mokbul Ahmad in its website that the shutdown will be enforced as the Supreme Court upheld Nizami’s death penalty rejecting his review plea against the death sentence awarded by International Crimes Tribunal for his wartime offences.
