Saudi Arabia keen to receive Sheikh Hasina
Dhaka: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to visit Saudi Arabia by May this year when a number of instruments for cooperation on investment, culture and education is likely to be signed between the two countries, reports BSS.
‘King Salman would be more than happy to receive her,’ said Saudi Foreign Minister Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir during the bilateral talks with his Bangladesh counterpart AH Mahmood Ali at Riyadh on Wednesday.
The Saudi foreign minister’s comment came when Mahmood Ali proposed that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina may undertake a visit to the Kingdom at an early date preferably between March and May this year, according to a message received in Dhaka on Thursday.
During the talks, both the ministers agreed to work together to fight against terrorism and extremism through meaningful cooperation as they reviewed the whole gamut of bilateral relations as well as exchanged views on regional and international issues, according to a message received.
Ambassador Golam Moshi, Deputy Chief of Mission Nazrul Islam and Consul General, Jeddah Shahidul Karim and Director of Foreign Minister’s Office Asif Rahman were present in the meeting from Bangladesh side.
