Chittagong: A speedy tribunal in Chittagong on Tuesday convicted two people and sentenced them to death involving a murder case in 2010.

Chittagong Speedy Trial Tribunal Judge, Mohitul Haq Md Enam Chowdhury, found Hesham Uddin and Shahid guilty of murdering 48-year-old Mansur Ahmed Khan. He was a resident of Madhyam Bainjuri area in Chandanaish upazila.

They have been tried in absentia.

The judge acquitted six others as charges against them could not be proven.

According to prosecution, Khan was stabbed to death by the men at his home over previous enmity on 7 March, 2010.

Hares Khan, brother of the victim, filed a case against eight people the following day.

Police submitted chargesheet against eight people on 1 September, 2013.
