Tunis: Tunisia on Thursday lifted the curfew imposed last month in response to sometimes violent demonstrations against unemployment in the country.
The country’s Interior Ministry said the security situation has improved.
The unrest was touched off by the death of a young man who lost out on a government job and climbed an electric transmission tower in the Kasserine region.
Protests spread to several regions, including the capital, Tunis, where stores and a bank were looted.
Imposed on January 22, the curfew lasted from 8:00pm until 5:00am.
