Benapole: Robbers looted valuables worth Tk34 lakh, including gold and cash, from a house at Sitarampur village in Sadar upazila of Jessore early on Wednesday, reports UNB.

Police said a gang of burglars entered the house of Amir Hossain of the village by breaking its collapsible gate at about 5:00am while the house inmates were asleep.

The gang looted 55 tolas of gold ornaments worth Tk 22 lakh and cash Tk seven lakh and US$6,700 from the house and locked the house from outside.

In the next morning, the residents woke up and saw the doors locked from the outside.

Later, local people opened the door.

Amir Hossain filed a case with Kotwali Model police.
