Mymensingh: A housewife died after torture allegedly by her in-laws in Alia Madrasah Road area of Mymensingh town on Saturday night, reports UNB.

The deceased is Nipa, wife of Arefin, a resident of the area.

Victim’s family members alleged that Arefin and Nipa had got married five months ago out of a relationship of love.

Since then, both of their families had been continuously at row as Arefin’s family did not accept the marriage.

Over the issue, Arefin’s family members tortured Nipa at night, leaving her critically injured.

Later he was rushed to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

Kamrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Model Police Station, said they had arrested Arefin, his mother Mahmuda Begum and father Akkas Ali in this connection.
