Stepbrother sued over 2 minors’ murder in Comilla

Comilla: A case has been filed in connection with the killing of two minor boys at Dhulipara village in Sadar South upazila.
Victims’ mother Rekha Akhter filed the case with Sadar South Police Station on Saturday night against her stepson Shafiul Alam Chhotan, 22, a private university student, said Inspector Mohammad Ayub of the police station.
Police, however, could not arrest Chhotan as he went into hiding after the recovery of the bodies of the two minors, he said.
Police recovered the bodies of Joy, 7, and his younger brother Moni, 5, sons of Abul Kalam, from their house at Dhulipara on Saturday afternoon. Chhotan allegedly strangulated his two stepbrothers to death.
Meanwhile, the slain children were buried after Johr prayers today as police handed over the bodies to the family following autopsy at Comilla Medical College Hospital.
Besides, students of Holy Child Kindergarten, where the two slain children used to study, and locals formed a human chain in the area demanding the arrest and exemplary punishment of the killer.
On the other hand, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mohammad Awal gave Tk 20,000 to the victims’ family from the local administration.
