Bogra: Two workers reportedly died of asphyxiation while cleaning a septic tank of an under-construction building on Hospital Road at Sherpur municipality in Bogra on Wednesday.

Police said Zahurul Islam, in his twenties, of Jhajhor Binodhar village and Sagar Rahman, in his early twenties, of Naldanga village, got down in the septic tank to clean it at about 9:00am.

Getting no response from the duo, fellow workers called fire fighters, who recovered the bodies of Sagar and Zahurul from the septic tank.

Police arrested the landlord, Abul Kalam Azad, in this connection, said Mohammad Erfan, Officer-in-Charge of Sherpur Police Station.
