A school teacher was stabbed to death at Saltha upazila in Faridpur on Thursday evening.

Police said Belayet Hossain Dulal Mollah, 47, son of late Mahmud Mollah, a resident of Shripur village, was an assistant teacher of Joyjhap High School of the upazila.

Some local youths, including Liton, 25, who had an enmity with Belayet, attacked him on a road in front of his house at about 5.30pm and stabbed him indiscriminately that left him critically injured, said Saltha Police officer-in-charge D M Belayet Hossain.

Later, he was rushed to Faridpur Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead at about 7:15pm.
