Security guard killed in Savar road accident

Savar: A security guard of a garments factory was killed in a road accident in front of the factory in Nama Genda area of Savar municipality on Saturday night.
The deceased is Jahangir Alam, 40, a security guard of the garments factor of Standard Group and son of Abdur Razzak Sheikh, a resident of Nowapara Nandigram village in Lohagora upazila of Norail district, reports UNB.
Savar police sub-inspector Forhad Hossain said the accident took place in the area at about 9:00pm when a covered van of the factory crashed into Jahangir while he was going to the office, leaving him dead on the spot.
When the news of Jahangir’s death spread, agitated workers vandalised a car.
On information, police rushed to the spot and took the situation under control.
Police personnel were deployed to fend off any further trouble.
