On the occasion of cricket season, the popular mobile web browser UC Browser, flagship product of UCWeb, an Alibaba Mobile Business Group, has launched its first series of cricket themed web games for Bangladeshi users.

Since its launch on 7 March, over 1.5 million Bangladeshi have participated in the games, creating a new trend in the country on mobile. The web games are based on HTML5, which are smoothly supported by UC Browser, says a press release.

Talking about the popularity of these games in Bangladesh, Kenny Ye, GM of Global Markets, Alibaba Mobile Business Group said, ‘Cricket is the favorite sport in Bangladesh and people support their team in different ways. During this cricket season, making use of HTML5 language, a rising technology supporting for the latest multimedia, UC Browser introduced a series of games for people to support Bangladesh team, have fun in guessing match scores and win amazing prizes.’

This series of cricket related games also garnered attention on social media with celebrities including Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Mushfiqur Rahim, Tamim Iqbal, Taskin Ahmed and Nasir Hossain posting about it. UC Browser wanted to create a platform where every Bangladeshi can enjoy and cheer with the team along.
