Chittagong: A man was burnt to death as a fire broke out in his house in Mekhol union of Hathazari upazila on early Sunday, reports UNB.

The deceased is Manik Nath, 50, son of Santi Nath, a resident of no.8 ward in the union.

Quoting locals, police said the fire broke out at Manik’s house at about 4:00am which left him critically injured.

Later he was rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Police suspected that the fire might have originated from fire of cigarette butt.
