Gazipur: A freedom fighter was shot to death and three others were injured by robbers at Kathora area in Gazipur early on Monday.

The deceased is Paresh Gosh, around 65 years old, a resident of the area.

Quoting witnesses, the Joydebpur police sub-inspector Parimal Biswas, said a gang of robbers, numbering around 10, swopped on the house of Paresh and his brother Naresh in the area at about 2:00am.

The robbers looted valuables and cash from the house.

As Paresh identified a member of the robber gang, they opened fire at him, leaving him dead on the spot.

The robbers also stabbed Naresh and his two sons Bidhan and Mrinal as they tried to resist the robbers.

The injured were admitted to Gazipur Shahid Tajuddin Medical College Hospital.
