Gazipur: A Gazipur court on Tuesday sentenced a man to death for killing his wife in Gazipur city in 2011, reports UNB.

The convict, Kawsar, a resident of Badalpara village in Bakerganj upazila of Barisal, was tired in absentia.

According to the prosecution, Kawsar, a garment worker by profession, beat his wife Narzina Khatun black and blue over family feud at Khailkur in the city on 9 December, 2011.

Later, Narzina was taken to a hospital where on-duty doctors declared her dead.

Victim’s elder sister Shanti Akter filed a murder case with Joydebpur Police Station in this connection.

After examining all records and witnesses, Gazipur District and Session’s Judge AKM Enamul Hoque passed the order.
