Woman charged with murder for allegedly killing son

Dhaka: A woman allegedly killed her one-and-a-half-year old son at their Mastarpara society residence in Uttarkhan area of Dhaka on Monday.

Police in the early hours of Tuesday recovered body of the child, Nehal from the residence.

Primarily, it has been believed, Mukta was attempted to commit suicide after killing his son, said police.

However, police said further details about the killing can be said after interrogation.

Local people and police said Babu, husband of Mukta, found his son’s body lying with his stomach slit open when he returned home at about 9:30pm on Monday.

He also found Mukta sitting near the body and saw blood stains on her neck.

After seeing his son’s body, Babu fall sick and was taken to hospital, said the police.

The law enforcers said Mukta lost his mental balance after experiencing the situation.

However, CID Crime Scene Unit collected evidences from the incident spot.

Earlier, a woman allegedly killed her son and daughter in capital’s Banasri area on 29 February.

RAB officials claimed Mahfuz Malek Jesmine killed her daughter, Nusrat Aman Arani, and son, Alvi Amin, following family crisis.
