Nilphamari: A fire broke out at a jute mill in Dhelapir Dhordhorar Pool area of Sadar upazila on Friday afternoon.

The fire originated from a mosquito coil factory inside the Iqu Jute Mill area and engulfed the entire mill at about 3:00pm, said sub-inspector Asaduzzaman of Sadar Police Station.

On Information, three firefighting units from Nilphamari and Saidpur Fire Stations rushed to the spot and doused the fire after 2 hours of frantic efforts.

The reason behind the fire could not be known immediately, added the SI.
