Technology giant Huawei has filed lawsuits against T-Mobile in the US and Samsung in China, the latest in a series of disputes over the Chinese phone maker's 4G patents, says a press release.

The suit against T-Mobile, filed on 7 July, accuses the wireless carrier of using Huawei's patented 4G technology without a licensing agreement. The 14 patents include GPRS and security standards of Huawei that T-Mobile uses throughout its 4G data network in the US.

Huawei has also sued Samsung in China over patents. The filing in a court in Guanzhou comes after two earlier suits filed in California and Shenzhen in May seeking compensation for the use of fourth-generation cellular communications technology.

Huawei has filed 52,550 patent applications in China and 30,613 applications abroad as of the end of 2015.

Statistics, released by World Intellectual Property Organization, shows that Huawei topped the table again in terms of international patent applications in 2015. In Europe, it also jumped to the fourth place according to the annual report released by European Patent Organization.
