Only 9pc people think ACC working to deal with graft: TIB study
Dhaka: Only nine percent of the country’s people think that the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) is working to contain graft in the country, says a study of Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB).
The TIB says people’s concept about the activities of Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) is not good though it scored high in 21 indicators out of 50 set for the study.
The findings of the TIB study was revealed at a press conference at its conference room in the capital on Sunday, reports UNB.
The findings show that the ACC has got high score in 21 indicators, including institutional legal independence and corruption prevention activities, while moderate score in 11 and low score in nine indicators.
TIB trustee board chairperson Sultana Kamal and its executive director Iftekharuzzaman and deputy executive director Sumaiya Khair were, among others, present at the press conference.
