Dhaka: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) standing committee member ASM Hannan Shah was put on life support at the ICU of Combine Military Hospital (CMH) on Tuesday morning.

Family said Hannan Shah was taken to CMH after he complained of chest pain at about 9:00am.

The senior BNP leader is also a former cabinet member. He was removed from the Bangladesh Army as Brigadier General by General Hussain Muhammad Ershad in 1981.
