Sirajganj: A woman and her two daughters, who were arrested for their suspected involvement with banned militant Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh, gave confessional statement before a court in Sirajganj on Tuesday evening.

Senior Judicial Magistrate Nazrul Islam recorded the statement of the trio under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), said Sirajganj Court Inspector M Shahidullah, reports UNB.

Earlier, members of Detective Branch (DB) of police produced the trio—Fulera Khatun, 45, wife of Abu Sayed, a resident of Baraitala village in Kazipur upazila, their two daughters Sakila Khatun, 18, Salma Khatun, 16—before the court.

The court also ordered to send them to the district jail.

On 5 September, DB members arrested Fulera, Shakila, Salma and Rajia, 35, wife of Rafiqul Islam of the same village, from Boroitola village.

DB Sub-inspector Iasin Arafat filed a case against them in connection with the incident.
