Mymensingh: Five people were killed and four others injured in a head-on collision between a mini truck and a utility vehicle at Shibpur in Gauripur upazila on Friday, reports UNB.

The deceased could not be identified yet.

Gauripur police officer-in-charge Fazlul Karim said the mini truck collided with the utility vehicle on Mymensingh- Gauripur road in the area at about 7:00pm, leaving a human hauler passenger dead on the spot and eight others injured.

The injured were taken to Haripur Health Complex where doctors declared two of them dead.

Later, the rest injured were shifted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital as their conditions deteriorated where two others succumbed to their injuries, the OC added.
