Barisal Univ registrar faces sexual harassment allegation

Barisal: A formal complaint has been lodged against Barisal University registrar Monirul Islam by a female staff member for ‘sexually harassing her’.
In her complaint lodged with vice-chancellor’s office, the female staff member said Monirul passed indecent comments to her—both in person and over phone—and made a filthy proposal in 2013, reports UNB.
She also alleged that Monirul instigated her to have a relationship with him after she had completed the divorce proceedings with her first husband. Several other staff members and faculties were witness to such incidents on several occasions, she claimed.
Sought comments, vice-chancellor of the university Imanul Haque declined to make any remark until the formal investigation into it is complete.
