Barisal: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) arrested a ferry owner from Hatem Ali College area in Barisal in connection with a graft case on Wednesday.

The arrestee was identified as Manjurul Ahsan Ferdous, owner of ‘MV Kirtonkhola’ and also the owner of a firm, named ‘MS Manjurul Ahsan & Company’.

Mohammad Akter Hossain, director of ACC’s Barisal office, said tipped off, a team of ACC conducted a raid at the house of Ferdous in the area and arrested him in the afternoon.

Earlier on Tuesday, Subhash Chandra Dutta, deputy director of ACC’s head office, filed a case against 10 people including Ferdous with Dharmapasha Police Station for allegedly misappropriating over Tk 1.2crore during the implementation of a project in Sunamganj.
