Dhaka: A schoolgirl died after falling from the sixth floor of an under-construction 15-storey building at Gulshan in Dhaka on Friday afternoon, police and hospital officials said.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gulshan police station Mohammad Sirajul Islam said 13-year-old Akhi Akhter, a Class VIII student of a Mohammadpur school, lost control and fell down the building while playing with one of his cousin. She went there to visit her maternal uncle’s house at Mohakhali TB Gate area.

Dhaka Medical College police camp in-charge Sub-Inspector Bachchu Mia said Akhi succumbed to her injuries at about 5:30pm.

The body was kept at DMCH morgue.
