Natore: A man has been sentenced to death for killing his wife at Pakuria village under Singra upazila of the district in 2012.

Natore District and Sessions Judge M Rejaul Karim on Thursday gave M Hasan the punishment and acquitted four others of charges on Thursday.

According to the prosecution, M Hasan, 25, son of Anwar, strangulated his wife, Asma Begum, to death over a family feud on 14 July 2012.

After the incident, victim’s neighbour Mofij Uddin charged Hasan with murder.

Police after investigation submitted charge-sheet with the court against five persons.

Later, the judge examining witnesses and relevant evidences announced the judgment in presence of Hasan.

The judge also acquitted four others accused of the case as the killing charge brought against them was not proved correct.
