Dhaka: The High Court on Monday issued rule upon three secretaries asking them why it should not take action against them for contempt of court for not complying with the court's order.

A High Court division bench comprising Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Jastice JBM Hassan issued the rule, asking law secretary, Legislative and Parliament Affairs Division secretary and social welfare secretary to reply in three weeks.

The High Court on August 14 asked them to explain their position in two weeks over contradiction found in the concerned law for safeguarding children. But they failed to submit any explanation till now. 

Today the matter was kept on cause list and time plea was submitted on behalf of three officials.
