Dhaka: US Ambassador in Dhaka Marcia Bernicat on Monday said the existing relations between Bangladesh and the United States will remain unhurt whoever comes to power following the US Presidential elections.

She said the relationship between the two countries will not be affected with the change of administration in the USA.

Bernicat hoped that the existing bilateral relations will further be strengthened in the days to come.

The entire world is apparently watching the developments in the US as the presidential election will be held on Tuesday.

The US diplomat was talking to reporters after her meeting with Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader at Setu Bhaban.

Bernicat congratulated Minister Quader on his election as General Secretary of the AL and discussed issues of mutual interest.
