Dhaka: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Md Asaduzzaman Mia on Thursday directed his subordinates to remain alert so that there is no misunderstanding between his force and other law enforcement agencies.

“Ensure a cordial atmosphere among all concerned while performing duty so that there’s no misunderstanding or any untoward incident between DMP and other forces,” he said while addressing the monthly crime conference at the DMP Headquarters.

Noting that they are working with the other forces for the country’s progress, the DMP chief said, “We’ve to keep good relations with all.”

Claiming DMP’s success in preventing militancy, he said no militant can stay in the capital due to their various initiatives, including beat policing, yard meeting and data entries of tenants’ information.

Noting that service at the police station level has improved in the capital, Asaduzzaman instructed the policemen to behave well with people while on duty and take proper legal step when necessary.

He also called for intensifying police activities setting up checkposts and carrying out block raids in every police station under the DMP. “Be careful so that no service seeker falls victim to harassment,” he added.

The DMP Commissioner also claimed that every member and officer of the DMP is working as a role model for other forces.

He also directed all officers-in-charge and deputy commissioners to work more sincerely to increase police confidence.

Senior officials of the DMP Headquarters, crime and traffic divisions as well as other units attended the monthly crime conference.
