HC judge embarrassed to hear plea against holding office by AG
Dhaka: A High Court (HC) judge on Sunday felt embarrassed to hear a petition filed challenging the legality of holding office of Attorney General by Advocate Mahbubey Alam.
An HC bench of Justice MD Rezaul Haque and Justice Mohammad Ullah refrained from hearing the petition as one of them declined to hear it, said petitioner Supreme Court lawyer Eunus Ali Akond.
Additional Attorney General Murad stood for the state.
On November 10, Akond filed the writ petition with the HC as Mahbubey Alam turned 67 on February 17 this year, as the age limit of any SC judge is 67 years.
