Rangpur: Two men were killed in a head-on collision between two trucks at Boirigonj in Mithapakur upazila of Rangpur early on Saturday.

The deceased are Shahjahan Ali, in his fifties, of Chithli Dakkhinpara village, and Limon Miah, around 20 years, of Mukimpur village of the upazila. Both of them are carpenters.

Humayun Kabir, officer-in-charge of Mithapakur Police Station, said the duo fell from a running wood laden truck when it collided head on against a potato leaden truck at about 4:00pm, leaving Shahjahan Ali dead on the spot and Limon Miah critically injured.

Limon died after he was taken to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.

The bodies were kept to the Rangpur Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, added the OC.
