Dhaka: Indian Defence Minister Gopalkrishna Prabhu Parrikar will arrive in Dhaka on Wednesday on a two-day official visit.

Gopalkrishna Prabhu Parrikar will lead an 11-member high-powered Indian delegation comprising deputy chiefs of three services during his Dhaka tour, a press release of Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate said in Dhaka.

Principal Staff Officer of Bangladesh Armed Forces Division Lieutenant General Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman and officials concerned of various ministries will receive the Indian minister and members of his entourage at Bangladesh Air Force Base Bangabandhu in Kurmitola.

During his two-day stay in Dhaka, the Indian minister will pay separate calls on President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Besides, he (Parrikar) along with the members of his delegation will meet Prime Minister’s Security Adviser Major General Tarique Ahmed Sidique (Rtd) when they will discuss matters relating to bilateral issues.

The deputy chiefs of staff of Indian Army, Navy and Air Force, who will accompany the minister, will pay courtesy call on chiefs of three services during the visit, when they are expected to discuss different issues relating to expansion of cooperation between the services of the two countries.

The Indian delegation will leave the country on 1 December after wrapping up their two-day Bangladesh visit, the release added.
