Dhaka: Police cordoned off a suspected militants den in the Ashkona Haji Camp area of Dhaka’s Dakkhin Khan in the early hours of Saturday.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police Additional Deputy Commissioner Md. Yusuf Ali told NTV Online the Counter Terrorism unit of police have been laid siege to the three-storey building since early hours of Saturday and conducting drive in search of militants.

Police said the suspects have not agreed to surrender and police are negotiating with the suspects, as there are children and women in the building.

The suspected militants threatened police that they have grenades in their possession.
