Dhaka: Khadija Tul Kubra once again produced her fierce bowling spells helped Bangladesh women team to fight back in the series as they recorded an exciting ten-run victory over visiting South Africa in the low scoring third ODI of the five-match series held on Monday at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox's Bazar.

Chasing a winning target of 137 runs set by Bangladesh, South Africa found the chase stiff losing wickets in regular intervals and finally dismissed at a paltry total of 126 in 31.2 overs.

South African opener Lizelle Lee (46) and Dane van Niekerk (42 n.o) were the only two notable scorers for the visitors as they could not recovered from their early damage and failed to build any effective partnership to chase the total.

Kubra caused the major damage for South Africa as she grabbed four wickets conceding 33 runs. She was well supported by Jahanara Alam and Panna Ghosh who were picked up two wickets each giving away 21 and 25 runs respectively.

Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, Bangladesh were all out for 136 in 49 overs.

Skipper Romana Ahmed top scored for Bangladesh with 28 runs while Nigar Sultana and Sharmin Sultana contributed 21 runs each.

Sharmin Akter (17) and Sanjida Islam (16) were the other notable scorers for the host side.

Dane van Niekerk, Marizanne Kapp and Sun Luus were the other notable scorer for 18, 18 and 29 runs respectively.

Kubra of Bangladesh was named the player of the match for her impressive bowling performance.

Bangladesh, trailed the series 1-2, will play the 4th ODI against South Africa on Wednesday (January 18) at the same venue.
